Just installed the latest version, all of the bugs are still there.
Print in LAN-only mode goes to either 30% or 70% and locks up for 5 minutes, then gives FTP error (even though real FTP clients can connect to the printer without issue). This happens with 99% of prints unless I turn my firewall off, which turns off windows filtering, which is apparently filtering out the constant spam from the printer as a port scan attack. (windows 11)
If you dare to press “cancel” during that time it’s sitting at 30% or 70%, instead of canceling, Bambu Studio locks up and crashes. Every. Single. Time. It’s almost as if they didn’t test their software once. I’ve installed multiple versions, every one of them crashes 100% of the time you press cancel. Why even have that button?
I should note, this is after spending a month trying suggested firewall rules, enabling firewall logging, finding the firewall blocked nothing, then going down a rabbit hole learning about Windows Filtering Platform.
It seems the printer blasts BS with packets, but BS is not listening on the correct port, so the packets (and the up to 260x unsolicited rebroadcasts) are seen as a port scan or DOS attack and blocked. Only way to turn of WFP is to turn off the firewall which secretly turns off WFP, because windows.
I went down the exact same path you did. It’s frustrating that Windows has a security feature that you can’t turn off. In the end I left Windows Firewall turned off and made sure everything was turned on in my router’s security settings. I thought about getting a 3rd party firewall but haven’t as of yet.
Yet other people can print… right? So what is different with our setups? I’ve read we may have faulty hardware and need the networking board replaced. I opened a ticket.
