Printing PLA on the PEI print bed. I am seeing bad printing on the first layer of the front edge of a large print. It happened once and I thought it might be a glitch so I stopped it and started over. Exact same issue. Ideas?
Clean the build plate.
It is most likely some contamination, finger prints given the location or previous prints.
Actually I forgot to say that I washed the build plate with soap and water before printing the second time. Perhaps I didn’t do a good enough job… so I will try again.
While I am disabled, the following is mostly due to a specific disability “laziness”.
I have just bought new plates rather than clean the ones with bed adhesion issues.
It can take a couple of times and a good habit can make it easy.
Laziness, is working for me right now though. It can get expensive for 5 printers of course.
Yup, that was it. I followed the cleaning described in the guide and the problem went away. Thanks for your help!
As a bonus, now you’ve got a ton of not-precious feedstock for one of those automatic plate-changer systems to chew through
