so I was trying to cut some acrylic today with the 40w laser module and this happened
it just burned and cracker but didn’t cut it
I made sure it was put on laser cut on Bambu suite but idk lol what am I doing wrong here?
Diode lasers generally can’t be used to cut clear acrylic.

I think it has problems with blue and white too. It’s been a while since I worked with any but here’s Google’s take on it:
Acrylics diode lasers generally cannot cut:
- Clear Acrylic: The laser beam passes right through it.
- White Acrylic: The material reflects the laser’s energy, preventing it from being absorbed.
- Blue Acrylic: The laser’s blue wavelength is reflected by the material, similar to white acrylic.
- Mirrored Acrylic: The mirrored surface also reflects the laser.
- Translucent or Glitter Acrylics: These materials tend to be difficult for diode lasers to cut.
