I saw a video recently where someone took a laser to etch a build plate with a logo/name/etc. so that it showed up on the bottom of a print.
Is anyone offering a service where you send them your plate(s), let them etch it, then send them back? I’d be willing to send my plate(s) to someone for a small fee or even a roll of filament, and of course I would pay the shipping.
This might be a good little side hustle for someone with a laser.

I am in AU and do have a laser at my disposal.
Not sure though if it is a great idea.
The laser will remove material and change the properties of the area.
It WILL be visible on a print but I have no idea how this might translate to adhesion issues or the lifespan on the plate.

Someone actually posted a thread recently with a link to a site that did custom plates. I can’t find the thread but I googled it and found this, these guys make them but it looks like they are sold out right now:

I could do it, I would need essentially a sacrificial plate of the same make to test on for exact parameters. of the cut
If I have a worn plate that matches I will use that, however my bamboo is only a month old so…
If you are serious let me know I am in Central Cali and run a fairly busy laser service.
Ok, dug up a couple things i could test in. Off an old janky plate i had for an ender i got basic setting dialed in to ghost mark the surface. This is a shallow enough cut that you can see it with a lightsource at an angle. But at least bot my, fingers can not feel it. After doing this, i realised i don’t have a sacrificial plate for a bambu unit. I pinged a local friend to see if he has one i can so bad things to…
I will see if i can stuff this ender plate onto my mini and get a print off of it. More info as i gather it.
Oh, and if you want a logo, i can quote ya but have to see the original art. Please make sure it is in pure b&w i can convert most things, but if it goes past my skill I use an artist out of Spokan that does mote heavy lifting, her fee is reasonable.
