Latest Bambu Studio Crashes on every slice!

This morning BS crashed and when I relaunched it I was prompted to update.
I did.
Now it crashes on every slice! Yes, it’s a big model w/ complexity, but it did NOT crash before.

I guess I’ll downgrade.

Found the bug. Using anything other than default under Tree support crashes BS while slicing every single time.

Here - W11. Dell i9-14900, ! not overclocked ! 64 G RAM… it does that also with tree support “default”
Basically 8 out of 10 Slices / Send to printer crash Bambustudio…
Any idea? Now Bambustudio 2.0.3.54 and latest W11 = 24H2 26100.3915
Ah, should mention… it did that also on previous Bambustudio and before 24H2

Have you tried setting CPU affinity?

AI summary:

Bambu Studio can have issues where it freezes or crashes during slicing if it’s trying to use all available CPU cores. To fix this, you can limit the number of cores that Bambu Studio can use by setting its CPU affinity. This involves instructing the software to only use a specific set of CPU cores, typically the performance cores.

How to limit Bambu Studio’s core affinity:

  1. Open Bambu Studio: Start the software.
  2. Identify performance cores: Determine which cores your CPU uses for general processing. For example, on some CPUs, the first 8 cores are performance cores, according to a GitHub user report.
  3. Set affinity:
  • Windows: Right-click on the Bambu Studio icon in the taskbar or desktop.
  • Select “Properties”.
  • Go to the “Compatibility” tab.
  • Check the box for “Override high DPI scaling behavior”.
  • Choose “Do not use” from the dropdown list.
  • Click “Apply”.
  • Go to the “Advanced” tab.
  • Click the “Change settings…” button.
  • In the “Select Processors” section, uncheck all boxes except for the performance cores.
  • Click “OK”.
  • Apply the changes.
  • Restart Bambu Studio for the changes to take effect.

Hi Ikraus,
Thanks for the msg…
Yes, tried several ways … beside the standard 32 , manually 8 CPU down to 1 …
The difference is just the time how long it takes to come to the end of the slicing progress to crash…
