Layer Height larger than Nozzle Size

Hey guys. I’m trying to print using a special filament called LW-PLA (lightweight PLA). This PLA foams up and expands before hardening, giving you the ability to reduce the weight of your prints down to 65%. The issue is, in order to account for the extra thickness after expansion, I need to be able to set my layer heigh to 0.6mm on my machine, which uses a 0.4mm nozzle. Bambu Studio won’t allow me to print anything with the layer height larger than the nozzle height. Any idea how to override the setting so I can print 0.6mm layer height with my 0.4mm nozzle? I’m using a Bambu x1 Carbon. The filament is eSun LW-PLA.

TLDR
I need to print 0.6mm layer height with my 0.4mm nozzle, but Bambu studio won’t allow it.

Printer profile, Extruder. There are settings for min and max layer heights. Change this, save as a new profile when you are using LW filaments.

Thanks for the help! I tried this, but I still get the error, “Layer height cannot exceed nozzle diameter” even when I set the max layer height setting to 0.8mm and the Layer height and First layer height to 0.6mm.

Any ideas what’s causing the error?

Also, I can’t manually edit the nozzle diameter in the printer profile. It’s greyed out.
Layer height settings

Hmm. Looking at the tooltip for that setting I see it is used for Adaptive Layer Height only. Sorry for the false hope,

I’ve seen others who print LW-PLA - I think there was a recent post in the Bambu Facebook group.

I got it figured out! Turns out, you’re not really supposed to set the layer height any higher than a normal print. You just have to tune the Flow Ratio, Print Speed, and Nozzle Temp to get the light weight properties. For future travelers looking for answers, here are my settings. I’ll probably change them up as I learn, but this at least prints pretty good quality objects with LW-PLA using my Bambu x1c:
