I have a problem with layer shift after the first layer.
Printer is a x1c with AMS.
Filament is ABS from Bambu, in 2nd slot of AMS.
Interface material for supports is PETG from Bambu, 3rd slot. Used several times that combination without problems. Interface is only in the higher layers, so i don’t think that this is the problem.
Cleaning tower is activeted.
Bed temperature is set to 90 degrees celsius.
Extruder temperature is 270 degrees.
Model is rel. large, 200mm by 105mm.
After printing the first layer, x1c makes first layer inspection with the Lidar.
It says that there are issues in the first layer, but it looks perfect. If you tell the printer to go on, it results in a diagonal layer shift of about 3mm in direction front right corner.
The failure was reproduceable several times.
I checked the belt tension, cleaned the rods and also cleaned the Lidar lense.
The glas door and upper cover show heavy dirt from printing ~1kg ABS. Printed 2kg PETG, 1kg PA6-CF, 1kg PLA, there was no film on the glas surfaces at all. ABS smells also way more than all other matetials.
Printer has now 234 printing hours, not that much.
There was also not so much dirt on the rods, maybe it looks way more on the glas surfaces.
The failure occured a couple of days ago the first time, cleaned everything and somehow suddenly prints were fine again.
But today, after some prints, failure occured again.
Checked/adjusted belt tension, cleaned the Lidar again, but it seemed this was not the problem, did not help. Today was also a software update, but the next two prints were ok. Problem apeared later.
It just became an idea, it could be a weared Filament cutting blade which needs higher force when cutting with loosing some steps in the stepper. But, it does not cut after the first layer. This would mean it looses them before printing the first layer and is setting the homepoint after the first layer again. Otherwise it would have an offset for the whole print, not between first layer and the rest of the print.
The preview in the slicer looks ok.
Some ideas what could also be the root cause?
