Hello all,
I have a P1S with AMS. When something goes wrong with one spool in the AMS (e.g. twisted filament) the print pauses automatically. When I resume the print some hours later (when I am not home) I get always a slight layer shift.
Is there a way reduce layer shift after resuming print?
Can I somehow change to another spool in the AMS mid print when the spool cannot be pulled in? Ideally automatically…
Is it a real layer shift or just a “line” which you can see in the finished print? I had some prints which lasted for 3 days and had a problem with a blocked funnel from the poop chute, the print stopped for maybe half an hour. After I resolved the problem and resumed the print, there was clearly a line to see in the middle of the print. I also was wondering if there are any solutions for that.
Yes it is more a visible line. Not much, but visible.
I thought it would be caused by a slight layer shift, because the printhead position deviates slightly after pause.
I suspect it takes some amount of time for the printer to realize and pause from a filament feed failure. During that time, the nozzle continues to move just as if filament was being extruded. The line likely reveals the missing section of filament.
