Layer Shifts & Calibration Issues on Bambu Lab X1 Carbon: Need Help!

I’ve been experiencing issues with my Bambu Lab X1
Carbon where the layer shifts after the first layer is completed. I loosened the belt screws on the back and followed Bambu Lab’s instructions and re-tighten them. I also ran a calibration, but I received an error code indicating that the bed is warped or the nozzle is dirty. I checked the bed and found no issues, and the nozzle is cleaned. During calibration, the nozzle crashes into the bed and drags all the way to the back. I performed a factory reset, but it didn’t help. Also the print head would slam to the back of the printer being extremely loud. I have also completed a Bed Tramming Procedure
I’m at a loss and would appreciate any assistance.

I have a similar problem, but in my case, it slams into the back wall.

Welcome to the forum.

I’m assuming your printer is either a X or P series. Hitting the back wall generally means that the printer hasn’t been able to fully home in the front right corner. Do you have any “mods” installed like a drag chain or PTFE guide? Can you fully move the print head manually to the front right corner?

This is the video, it’s a combination of the head slamming to the back and my nozzle scraping the bed while calibrating.

Have you performed a factory reset yet? Often that will clear up odd behaviour. Are you printing from a SD card? Do the prints that come with the printer (Benchie) have the same behaviour when you run them?

Edit

First get rid of this.

Thank you for the warm welcome! I’m glad I found this community. I followed your instructions and removed the piece you suggested. So far, there are no issues with calibration and no more slamming to the back of the printer. I’m about to print a Benchy and will update you soon. I appreciate the help. It’s strange because that piece had been there for a while without causing any trouble.

I think that solved it.
