I am able to import SVG files, but my issue is that layered SVGs no longer import with each layer separated as parts, but merged to a single solid object and there’s no way to split it back into the parts.
This has killed my normal workflow to where now I have to export each layer as a separate svg and then to properly align them in the slicer. This has easily doubled my design time for the custom signs I sell.
Just noticed this when importing my SVG. It’s marking the other layers as “invisible”, because technically they would be invisible as they are within the base shape, but that’s the point. I want to be able to take those other shapes and move them as separate layers on top of the base layer.
The developers have been made aware of the problem, but it sounds like they need to be convinced it is worth fixing. Their suggestion is to keep both old and new versions, split the svg in the old and then continue working in the new version.
Just spent two hours trying to figure out what I was doing incorrectly. Thought I’d just check if others had this issue (.svg files not having individual layers imported - used for coloring) WaLa… I came across this.
I asked that this feature be put back.
Thank You in advance.
Yeah, this sucks… I used this method as well. Completely screwed up the flow. Sure hope they change it back, I don’t understand why they would have changed it in the first place. Hope it gets reverted back soon.
PLease fix that issue. I can not work as erlier! I am loosing customers!
Suggestion: what about to do tests before a new update is release?
this is BASICS.

No need lose customers, just reinstall 1.9.7.52 and you can use your old work methods. On a PC, you can also install the portable version in a separate folder and have both versions available.
Go to Release 1.9.7.52 Public Official · bambulab/BambuStudio · GitHub, scroll down to Assets and pick the version you need for your computer. The .exe file is the regular Windows installation, the .zip is the portable version which runs from its own folder.
