Learning, Briming, and going Ludacris, and storing

Only a bit over 500 hours so far, but really enjoying our P2S. Had several encounters with my prints breaking away from the plate, spaghetting, and frustrations.

I learned how to work around those things and things I’ve learned to adopt are Brims, love them! Gives a print subject (especially taller ones) more footing for more successful results. Break-aways are almost a thing of the past for me now. I’d much rather waste a little on a 10mm brim (think a cowboy hat), than the frustration of 70-80% done and Oh, Snap, the project wrecks itself. So I discovered Brims and use big ones as a rule (10mm).

I temporarily beat problems with slowing down. But with Brims I can run at Ludacris speed and succeed at 166% of normal print speed. (I do wonder if I am risking more ware or breakage of my P2S running it this way) I’m finding much greater successes with all my projects the way I am running my printer.

Is there a list of terminologies for the verbiage that applies? I never thought of “Brims” as a search word for a broader base when printing. And why is high speed Ludacris?

Anyway, I’m using Bambu Filament. Saving a little with other brands is not a concern for me, quality of performance is. And as a Newby, I’m not too apt to go fiddling with settings. Trusting that the factory might know more about my printer than some unknown poster. Some of the modifications I see or read up on are flat out bad ideas in my opinion.

Happy with my P2S, AMS, and the drying option with the AMS. Oh, and speaking of dry Filament, I vacuum bag my rolls with a desiccant holder in the center of my spools when not in use. I use my Seal-A-Meal machine, rolls of 11’ wide bag material, cut to 16” length (so I can use the bag more than once.) I can also reuse the original bags once and vacuum seal them.

I stopped reading at “ludacris speed”

yeah show us the prints made with ludachrist speed… I want to see them !!

Challenge accepted!

Now then, how do I get them from my android to here to shove up your nose, oh doubting Thomas?

I give you 2 hours then I must really go to sleep :joy:

use the browser of the phone to log into the forum, then you can upload pics straight from the phone.

Since you asked about search terms…

“Ludacris” is the name of a contemporary musician from the southern US.

“Ludicrous” is the English word meaning something so foolish or absurd that it becomes funny. It is also the name of the highest preset speed setting on BL printers.

At 166% of default speeds, which from my experience are typically already straining the hardware and printing parameters in many of the default profiles, I’m not surprised prints need to be held down. I’m mildly surprised they even come out recognizable… Yes, pictures please!

Cheers,
-Max

Well, I did spell it correctly, but spill chucker told me to change it to an “a”. But you guys figured it out anyway. :+1:
So thank you Blaster for the nudge to finally get images working. Here are two, the main figurine body for a 3rd Baby Yoda. For one of the grandaughters friends. All printed over the last 4 days on ludicrous speed. As you can see(but may not admit) it is quite possible. Just maybe not for your printers.

I actually find it is a better result than the other speeds I’ve tried. And I really like the speed (time) increase. I’m not seeing anything adverse so far. In fact, the inertia rocking is less.

I almost never use my phone to go on the Internet, Blaster. But that does the trick fo show.

Learned something new today. Thanks!

Pretty confident it’s a reference to the movie Spaceballs (Parody of Star Wars) where the antagonists accelerate their starship past lightspeed and go to Ludicrous Speed, which is so fast it blows past the protagonists who were trying to escape at Light Speed.

Here’s the clip… there’s a bit of language towards the end, hopefully that doesn’t get me in trouble. If it does I’ll just edit my post and remove the clip.

If you have troubles because sites recognize you’re from a cellphone and they push their phone sites, you can just go into your mobile browser’s settings and hit “identify ad desktop PC”

and please install ublock origin even on your mobile browser (browser plugin but not with chrome)

Thanks Blaster! Yeah, I use Chrome on my old android phone. I use both Windoze and Chrome on my desktop PC.

Anyway, I’ve been happy running the ludicrous speed so far. Works for me! But then, I’m real new. (And pretty dumb to the jargon of 3D printing. ) Thank You for the help.
