Let's talk about exchange rates, taxes, government and the new Silk+

Did everyone see the new Silk+?

$25
29€

Grrrrrr

Yeah, kinda pricey. I was hoping for a day 1 coupon code like on some of the other new products but no luck there either.

I just ordered some  We’ll see how this goes. I very much dislike regular silk, so hopefully this proves to be a little better.

The exchange rate is the problem.

Their currency conversion sucks:

@ElektroQuark @Johnny_Bit Ohhhh, ok, gotcha.

Is the US price also including tax?

Hey Johnny, may I ask where are you from?

No, it’s $25 + tax.

:poland:

It’s in my list to visit with our RV.
Maybe in a couple of years.

In the Netherlands it is 23.52 excluding tax, 28.46 including.

So i guess their conversion is quite ok? We are just not used to see untaxed prices

So the US price is without taxes. Then I’m happy now

Well I definitely should stop complaining about my taxes then. Bambu always charges me 6.5% for state and county tax. So $25 before and $26.63 after.

You shouldn’t be - EU VAT is calculated using German standard, so 21%, in PL it’s 23%. The highest sales tax in US is 12% AFAIK.

See?

[Insert rant on how I loooooove politicants and beaurecRATS]

Well if you want to hear something really crazy, when I order online from most stores inside the US that don’t have a physical location in my state (Florida) they don’t charge any tax. If I order straight from BIQU or one of the sites that ships from China, no tax. I’m not quite sure why Bambu charges those taxes unless they have a warehouse in Florida I’m not aware of?

Sales tax in the US isn’t based solely on nexus anymore, there is a volume limit per state and BL is over that limit. Those other companies aren’t.

German VAT is 19%. In SP 21%, so a 2% rise for me and a 4% for you.

Did you grab Gold and Silver?

Guess which country doesn’t have them in stock?

Price conversion.

U.K. price is £22.99, from US to GBP it is £19.57, but, with tax added, it is £23.48, a £0.49 saving!

It doesn’t state that the US price includes any tax, I am not sure how they work with the US system as the states run their own taxation, I assume it is left to the individual to declare it.

The one extra colour in the bi-colour is a bit disappointing.

PETG - HF

Does anyone know when they added the new PETG-HF colours?
