What functionality does level assignment have? Other than releasing models, what is the purpose? I understand that it can identify a more experienced or less experienced user, but in the general system what more does a level 30 user offer compared to a level 5 or 15 user?
Practically, are there any advantages or not? It would be helpful if someone from the team could explain
As I imagined, so itâs a useless thing. However, it would be better if it had more functionality. Because as it is now, having level one or level 30 doesnât change anything. Especially in the evaluation of print profiles. Very often we come across newbie users who leave negative and often demoralizing evaluations after a long modeling job. Even if you report them, they are not always removed immediately.
I think the level would also be useful when reporting certain ratings or comments, to have administrators give priority over reports of irregular ratings or comments.
This would already be an additional function for a user accredited by the higher level.
As well as against users with very low levels (e.g. up to 10), prevent negative evaluations unless they are accompanied by photos
I like this, although, I still want everyone to provide a photo with every 3-star or lower rating. Everyone has a smartphone who owns one of these printers.
The new user (level 8) âaccidentallyâ started a print, stopped the print job before it even started and then decided the best thing to do was to write a negative review of my print profile!
Too new to realise hitting print starts a print.
Too new to realise that rating a print profile despite never printing the model and worse, rating it poorly was the best solution to their failure!
Gives one star rating describing âitâs a jumble mess in the middle part and the head got detached from the printâ
I ask him if he followed the instructions and that before rating a star you should ask for help if you are inexperienced.
Answer: Iâve printed other âput a picture of Gromitâ designs before and theyâve always turned out well. The problem is yours and your model, you have problems.
I already understand that he used PLA, since he puts a photo of any model, but the print profile was for ASA!!! Printed with PLA using an ASA profile with several modifications to fit the model. A genius and I got a star (among other things on a niche model with few ratings, 2 5 star ratings and a one star rating from this ignorant
Obviously your evaluation without photos of my model. No comment
Yes, the whole situation has been explained and this characterâs rating and subsequent comments have been deleted. But itâs unnerving to report something every time. As in another post, these levels should be better enforced so that it is impossible for newbies to assign negative ratings without photos and without having first contacted the author to ask the model for assistance first.I think itâs easy for managers to do
makerworld gives points to anyone who leaves a rating (positive or negative).
If makerworld stopped giving points to anyone who gives a rating, this problem would no longer exist.
Only really motivated people would leave a rating.
Uhm now I take a little offense here. 95% of my points are from ratings because thereâs only so many Star Wars Black Series collectors.
You guys are really reaching arenât you? So someone leaves a bad review that is lvl 3 (or whatever) and thus everyone who is at that lvl are inexperienced and should lose the right to rate a model?
The whole point of, well, points for ratings is to encourage engagement and to give those that canât design (i.e. me) a chance to get some rewards as well. Again, this line of thinking leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Tastes like elitism.
Iâm not sure if your initial comment included me.
My comments and the rest here are concerned with those who have a long level number are also coincidentally those who leave a negative rating with zero information or photo to show the issue.
In my experience, those with a higher level number have gained experience of MW and know how to provide helpful information and can differentiate between issues at their end and those with a profile that has issues.
I donât link the level with 3D printing experience as one doesnât mean the other. I do however link it with a lack of experience in MW and being a good actor as they have yet to have understood what their obligations are.
This has always been my view as you can clearly see from my words.
I expect actual descriptions and photos of problems. I do not believe a rating without any information helps the user or the designer. How could it, it says nothing.
In most cases they press a button to indicate âsupportâ when no supports were added nor required. Indicating a lack of supports for a coaster (100mm diameter by 2mm thick cylinder) is so irrelevant it is idiocy. It is a bed that requires a clean.
It is usually those with a low level number that fail to ever respond to follow-up requests. Those with a higher number have invariably learnt that engagement helps everyone.
If we canât assume people so very new to a system they have only just joined through we certainly canât expect them to be experts either.
I canât demonstrate those with low level numbers are experts, but, solely based on my experience interacting with users, I can. I respond to each of the 25-100 I get every day.
I can only assume your experiences are different to mine.
