For approx the last three weeks I have been getting a constant error that the lidar is dirty and needs cleaned. I have probably done so ten times over the course of that period. Using IPA and water and everything non caustic I could think of. The printer has, surprisingly enough, never seen anything but PLA, PETG, or TPU so no real off gassing and from what I can tell this error has not led to any printing problems at all. What can be done if anything?
I would make sure you are actually cleaning where the lidar lens is, it’s not super obvious and at an awkward angle. It’s easy to think you cleaned it and in fact missed.
I have had this problem twice on my X1C and both times it was the white rectangle on the righthand side of the build-plate. This is what the micro-lidar looks at first. If this is dirty it will give you that error. I clean it with a microfiber cloth. I hope this helps.
I have gotten this on occasion as well. I found that using a cotton swab dipped in 99% IPA and cleaning the lens and sensors works for me. Then I dry it with a microfiber lens cloth and the issue goes away.
