Linux: Flatpak Support Now Out

To all you Linux nerds - Bambu Studio now has flatpak support

This also fixes the issue some users would have faced with not being able to see anything in the home tab.

I noticed the fonts are blurry in Preview / Slice Plate when installing from new FlatPack mechanism. Not a problem with AppImage.

Yea I noticed colouring off too, I had bigger issues with AppImage though, always had to open from terminal with additional command due to bug. This is a positive step forward though, and I would assume more improvements for Linux to come

I haven’t noticed blurry fonts on mine, I’m on ubuntu 22.
I do however have a too small un-sizable flush volumes dialog box now. I run light mode now because I couldn’t see the object list before. The list text seemed to be one shade of grey brighter than the background

Edit: When will we have a single titlebar?

TLDR; You can probably solve this with a gnome extension or something. Google “hide gnome title bar on flatpak application”

I don’t think this is something the dev’s will address. At least not anytime soon. The title bar seems custom, and would require extra work to make it function with Ubuntu/Gnome, plus other DE’s under the Linux umbrella.

Please add STL repair option like in the windows version.

Mesh repair is a Windows feature, Studio only accesses it.

Studio can’t access a feature that Linux does not have. Studio for Mac does not have that option either. You should be able to find other software for those OSs to make repairs.

Prusa Slicer offers this is their MAC version as well ?

I could be wrong, since I don’t use a Mac or PrusaSlicer, but a quick search says no mesh repair in PrusaSlicer for Mac.

I do find a comment on the PS forum that as recently as last July “The windows version has Repair through Netfabb available as an option. This is not available on any other OS. Netfabb repairs tend to work better as its a third party service that is accessed through the windows OS.”

I find no indication that this situation has changed.

Mac Version of Prusa sliver

I’m happy to be wrong about that. I was searching for Mac “mesh repair” rather than “STL repair”.
