When I ordered my Bambu Lab I also bought the Liquid Glue at 16.99€, well I don’t recommend it.
First try with PLA Polyterra which I was also testing, I had a lot of trouble removing my prints and especially removing my small pieces of yarn for flow calibration.
I actually had to use a cutter to remove them and I slightly damaged the cool plate surface.
I retested with the good old tube of glue and the same filament, no problem, I can remove all the threads with a little fingernail.
ref, I do not recommend Liquid Bambu Lab glue, not only is it super expensive.
It clearly states on the site that it can be used for Cool Plate “Easy Release” well let’s see…
I actually use the liquid glue on the textured PEI sheet whenever I need better adhesion and it works pretty well for that purpose. I think I also used it on the cold plate but had trouble removing the print just like you, so there I stick to glue stick, though I have hardly used anything but the textured PEI sheet ever since I got it.
I however do NOT recommend you use it for anything that needs a true barrier or for more sticky filaments, for example Fillamentum NonOilen or ASA - both are almost impossible to remove from it, even after cooling down thoroughly (parts themselves are fine but removing brim means literally scraping the bed). For regular PLA, it works great, and you don’t even need to renew it every print, it just provides that little extra grip, so I would recommend it for smaller PLA parts where you would ordinarily need a brim, but not much more, in which case the price is OK as it lasts a long time (I used perhaps 10% of my bottle and I’m printing nonstop).
I have the exact opposite experience. I’ve been using it since the day I got the printer, have not made a print without it, and have had very easy release with every single print I’ve done. Haven’t had a single print failure due to improper adhesion. Been using it on PLA, PLA+, ABS, and PETG, from multiple brands like Hatchbox, Overture, Polymaker, SunLu, and Bambu Lab. Used it on the Cool Plate and High Temp Engineering Plate.
I haven’t even opened the regular glue stick that came with the printer since the liquid glue is working so well.
Thank you for the feedback, I will then try again, shaking the product well to be sure that it is not a problem of lack of misibility.
Strange indeed, because I had a terrible time removing the small lines for the flow test.
I use liquid glue for all of my prints and have great success. I’m not using Bambu’s liquid glue specifically, but I can assume that they are all pretty similar. There are times that some parts will stick a little more than I want, therefore I use a little water around the stubborn part and let it work its way under and it always releases with ease after that. The only filament I have found that sticks that well, is PA-CF. I use the glue on all of Bambu’s buildplates.
Maybe this will help others, eventually you’re going to have to use glue for a part and I personally love the results I get with the liquid glues.
You are right.
I was obviously talking about other 3D liquid glues being very similar. Not comparing them to some liquid glue I would used for arts and crafts.
