Yesterday I was printing a big model and I inserted a spool that was already low on filament so I could try the filament runout procedure of the X1C (no AMS).
When no filament was detected, the nozzle moved to the cleaning zone and waited for me to change the spool in the temperature/axis tab, which I found strange as there is already a load/unload button on the machine. I could just heat up the nozzle and extrude the filament manually myself but I wanted to do it the “simple” way with the tap of a button. So I touched load but the list of things of the load procedure did not show up and the printer felt unresponsive, so I kept touching it like 5 more times. After that I found out it takes some time to appear on screen and the machine made the 5-6 loads continuously filling the shoot, wasting lots of filament and, after resuming the print, the machine started printing in mid air. Had to cancel it.
I think the printer should be more responsive and let you know somehow that the filament change started and also don’t allow the user to make several filament changes in a row.
I hope this information is useful. ![]()
