Loaded STL files in bambu Studio say that no geometry data!

Funny in a current case of mine an AutoCAD stl is showing up in Bambu Studio with an extra two-material block that I didn’t draw.

That’s because you have two materials used. The slicer automatically adds the purge block.

Thank you. That is helpful. I didn’t make the stl, so I’ll ask my lab user to correct the issue on their end.

Figured it out. The infill was chosen to be a different material, with a very different thermal profile.

I’m exporting from tinkercad, student projects. When I import into Studio, I’m getting the geometry error as well. New in the bambu arena…

I am experiencing the same problem when exporting a SVG from Affinity Designer 2

Do the IGES files work in bamboo studio? I was able to print one item and am not unable. I need help. What can I do to override the incompatible error. I’m a beginner. I need a solution.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

The solution is to export the IGES file as a STEP or STL and import that into Bambu Studio.

I have started having this issue today with a .step file of my own creation exported from fusion 360.

It opens fine in Orca and STP Viewer.

The same model exported as .stl opens fine in Bambu Studio.

Seems like there is definitely something funny going on with Bambu Studio.

I ran into the same error with a file exported from FreeCAD… other models exported to .step or .stl from FreeCAD are working it seems, but one of them is not. I exported in a bunch of other formats and finally .obj seemed to import into Bambu studio. I have to say I had so-so experience so far with Bambu’s software, I’m really not very impressed. Unfortunately they are not very approachable, seemingly they are putting their customer support on the community. This stinks, Bambu!

I have the same issue but the workaround is to import the STL instead of opening it, it works fine this way. Hopefully they will fix the bug soon.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by keeping up with the new formats. I’m not aware of any recent changes to the stl format. Certainly, there are/were issues with some 3d modeling software producing flipped facets. That’s a software issue across multiple software platforms, not a format issue.

I had the same problem. In my case, it turned out that Bambu Studio did not have access to the folder with the STL. I had to move the file to another folder.
For me, this happened due to the Flatpak isolation. Copying the file to my home folder fixed it.

Fixed it, I ran my model through Fusion 360 and then exported it into a STL file then imported that file to Bambu Studio all the geometry errors where gone.
