A whole 2 days from the UK to US East Coast. Can’t use it until I replace the X Gantry later today, but I can’t wait.
LOL, seriously, it’s a real beauty. I want one!
Didn’t expect it so soon. Kinda bummed. Have printer ready for it’s new part so should have something printed by this evening.
I’m happy to have one. Always wanted a Diamondback. now to see if it’s worth it.
I am eager to see the difference that this makes in printing. Can you do a side by side model showing how it outperforms the original nozzle? Perhaps a max volume print calibration or just doing at benchy at ludicrous speeds. Or even just printing a detailed model that struggles. Here’s one that I used as my “cannot be printed to perfection” test.
The polypearl tower in my experience is the hardest to get perfect. You always have to sacrifice one thing for another. I’d love to see a bake-off between that and Bamboo nozzle.
Can it do this:
And This:
And this:
And this:
All at the same time?
This is the best I could do with PLA at 0.08
I’ll try.
As you know I have a little work before I can. As I type this I just got notification the parts have arrived.
I am very curious about thermal conductivity. Given how good diamond is I’m wondering about temps.
Gotta go…work to do
Ok, up and running, callibrated the machine and the test benchy.
IF everything goes well I’ll give that a go. Don’t think I’ll be switching nozzles tonight, after fixing this printer I’m done with the screwdriver for the day.
Dance monkey boy, dance.
I assume when it all works perfectly, you will pull an Oprah and tells we all have one under our chairs.
Sure thing. Go ahead and look now.
@Olias
Not particularly thrilled with this. BL matte grey. Thought was printing .08 but guess I didn’t change it. Slicer says this .20 standard. Will do .08 tomorrow maybe, want to play with temps a little.
Why would another nozzle outperform stock on that model?
A hole is a hole, unless you’re printing insane volumes and speeds where heat transfer could play a role there’s nothing to gain.
Also meaningless without specifying settings/print time.
The impress-o-meter is not hitting high so far.
Erm, well, yes, off-topic, but, fair enough, I do not judge (or disagree).
I am interested in the answer to this.
I hope you’re not asking me, cause I really don’t care at this point. Just not happy with what it did print.
I’m suspecting temps and cooling had a more impact on this file than anything else, given the benchy after calibration was very nice. Meaning I did all the repairs and part swaps correctly. THAT was important to me.
Printing a temp tower now. I know what stock and the Revo gave me, but I suspect the Diamondback can run a little cooler. Don’t know if that’s true or if it impacts quality but I’m just starting to find out.
I also have to print something for my wife, so that is more important than anything.
Eh, probably not the place to comment on this quote I reckon
Running cooler. Stated at 230 moving down to 180.
190-195 looks good for the matte filament.
You may have to blow it up to see clearly. Overhang seems about perfect on 190/195, point is crisp.
Layer adheison drops off after 190. Snaps easily at 185. I may run CF and GF a little hotter, maybe same speed (stock pla settings).
Going to start a 8hr print now. Should be fun with a new nozzle and new build plate.
I saw that. I felt it was too hot. I messed with temps and found the diamond needs to be turned down a bit. Thing heats up amazingly fast.
Printing a large Galaxy PLA print for my wife now. I don’t know if it’s the new carbon rods, or the diamond, but it’s gorgeous. Just humming away.
I think what I’ll do tomorrow is mess with temps a bit more. Currently printing at 195. Could go to 190 but I thought I’d leave a buffer.
Yeah I was aware of how crazy diamond is on thermals.
Just have never used it to print so was still surprised
I’m sorry but these things remind me of the old days when the boys used to buy big Mallory Coils for their mom’s car cause it made them go fast … Of course there is a genuine use if you’re prepared to spend time tuning everything else around it to keep up, but most the time the sticker gives it cred. It does come with a sticker doesn’t it?
PS… Don’t take me seriously please
