Hi,
I’m printing a PETG disc face down. I actually like the texture from the original BL gold PEI plate, but the texture is just a bit too grainy.
I’m looking for basically exactly the same, just less grit. Does this exist, can anybody recommend one?
I don’t want one of those “patterns” like diamonds etc.
I tried these alternatives myself, not necessarily similar, just for completeness sake.
BIQU PyroGrip: similar to the BL PEI plate but even more grainy
BL smooth plate: ubersmooth but I don’t like the results, the part looks mass-produced
CryoGrip Frostbite: this leaves a paint-like texture, varnish-like. I actually really dislike this texture.
Thanks
Vinne
CryoGrip - but Glacier , not Frostbite
Are you based in the US?
Darkmoon Satin is wonderful with its texture

No I’m in Europe. I did check the Darkmoon Satin, but getting it here is too expensive.
About the CryoGrip Glacier. Would you say it’s more like the original BL Pei plate texture, just less grainy? Or is it more like the Frostbite “varnish / water drop-like” texture, but less pronounced?
The new Super Tack Pro could also be an interessting plate for you:
the new super tack for the h2c arrived today, have to say that I love the surface finish, even more than the glacier which has been my preference on the h2d
Here’s a pic (pla-cf)
