Looking for feedback on my OpenSCAD model

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself with this first post.
I’m a software programmer who’s just diving into the world of 3D, and it’s been an absolute blast! I’m learning new things every day, and it’s so rewarding.

I even got to take part in a contest on Makerworld (OpenSCAD Master Challenge), and my model is doing surprisingly well! I’m still working on it, adding new features and improvements based on feedback I’m getting.

Here’s the link to my model if you’d like to check it out and give me some feedback (Ultimate QR Code Generator: Text, Wi-Fi & More):

I’ve also got some new ideas I’m working on, so stay tuned for more updates! Thanks!

Hey! Welcome!

I was just checking your model out, funny enough. I was playing with QR codes yesterday, and saw your model up this morning, haha. I just need to find an excuse to use them now.

I was impressed at first that you got the whole QR-Code generation math into a single OpenSCAD file - until I noticed that you were just using a library from someone else and actually added not much to it (just some customizer lines) without even attributing (at first; meanwhile you do attribute to him in the code, that’s good, but not in the model description). So all my impressedness goes to Darwin Schuppan.
You even used the very restrictive standard digital file license, even though you added really not much to the free QR-Code code. It might even be more of a remix then…?

Now that I reread my post, it sounds quite harsh. Please reduce perceived harshness my 75%. A few of my early designs used emmett’s planetary gear code as a part of a design (because I didn’t know how to code ‘real’ gears myself), and I didn’t declare them as remix (but attributed to him in the description and used the same kind of license). Now that I have my very own gear code I can do whatever I want (and I do  ) .

I appreciate your feedback, but I’d like to clarify one thing: the special thanks to xypwn for their library have always been present in the description.
In the code, I mistakenly removed their license comment, but I restored it within two days (I acknowledged my error and publicly apologized).
I’m constantly learning, and mistakes are often the best teachers
