3.7 hour print time, 1 download, 10 prints and only been posted for an hour and also has been rated 30 min after upload. ![]()
the other 2 models on this profile have also been rated by the same person minutes after uploading. ![]()

Ultra-Ludicrous mode of course ![]()
I noticed the other day there was a spammer with a heap of prints but no downloads. Struck me as curious how that works?
This is another way to cheat. You can use a short piece of filament to bypass filament detection. Then you can use the “printing” loophole to continue to gain points. Of course, you need a second account.
IDK if bambu has dealt with this kind of cheating.
Ooook they’ll always find a way, the amount of brain power wasted to disrupt and/or gain points is sad…
Prints and downloads count separately, it’s likely that when we download something it counts towards the print counter, but when the print is completed Bambu Studio/Handy sends the print ‘confirmation’ to MakerWorld and changes the print into a download count.
I just looked through a few ‘contests’. There’s loads of models just scalped from Thinky and Printable.
Spotted another. Going to guess the 200+ followers are the alt accounts?
1500 downloads, 0 prints. Maybe he was a colonel in some army regiment and he ordered every soldier to download his model.
Yeah, I’ve sort of given up on the current contests because I’m competing against well known prints from other places. ![]()
I really don’t think you should give up. They’ve stated numerous times that old models won’t win contests and the awards are almost always given to newer ideas and creations
I am just complaining about the recent rewards farming behavior. This does not affect my approval of the competition. Competition awards will only be awarded to original and creative works. Those who spread spams will not be able to receive competition honors.
What to do in a situation like this?
The account clearly does download manipulation with the typical black square and numbered models. But what about the accounts that download and rate it? Reporting that one is obvious.
The account in question:
almost every model has a single review with no info, picture etc but always rates 5 stars.
What about these accounts helping?

The last one also seems to be doing download manipulation

Typically they’ve been left behind, I’ve reported the raters too with screenshots (as the models disappear). For some unknown reason the “legit” looking profiles get to scam another day once the offending models disappear. It’s hyper-levelling along the way and that gives them the appearance of honesty ![]()
Looks like someone figured out the party trick and is getting greedy or spreading the news around so others can join in. I’ve noticed it’s always a mini profile but even then a mini has like a 6 min turn around time between print jobs. There has to be some extra manipulation going on to rack up that many “prints” in such a short time.
Another one

and their rater (i think this is the main account, I’ve seen it before on this type of scam)

This account has been reported for this kind of thing before.
One account uploads models, another account (the main account?) did the printing and scoring to get improper points, I wonder if the current reporting system still works, or if there are just too many reports to cope with?
you can use multiple printers and a modified machine code to reduce total print time and to increase the output. Ofc, you can edit the gcode directly.
Little black square one is back

Update, I think the user has seen that people are downloading his model… meaby someone tried to make him ban or someone jealous ? who knows :S
It’s technically possible by downloading the raw files, but like you said it’s incredibly unlikely.
So far I’ve been reporting models with this kind of improbably download counts and each time they’re taken down within 24 hours
