I’ve tried to print several parts but keep getting similar errors. Loops and “eyelashes” sticking out the sides of the part. I’ve re-exported the STL but the same thing happens. the area of error seems to move around. Currently using BBL PETG-CF. I tried to print with the silent 50% speed, but the same thing happens.
Thank you for any insights on how to correct this.
I’ve never seen big “eyelashes” like that, but you aren’t getting any other responses, so I’ll throw out a few thoughts to consider.
I always start with DRY, calibrated filament, just to have a reliable basis for all my prints. My PETG in particular needed temperature and flow rate changes from the default profiles.
This smaller blemish in particular looks like it was blown out by moisture.
And the fact that the errors move around may be another indication that the filament has too much moisture.
If you are certain the filament is dry, I’d try changing the wall generator Classic to Arachne or vice versa.
Maybe look at Order of walls (Advanced slider on, Quality>Advanced). I would expect outer wall/inner wall to lay down a good perimeter preventing any other direction changes from pulling out the ‘eyelashes’.
Less likely fix: try a different infill.
I don’t know if it is significant, but it looks like these big ‘eyelashes’ occur at the same layer as the top of the hole on the left.
The issue is on a straight vertical wall.
More drying did help reduce the errors.
The filament is by Bambu Labs so I didn’t think I’d need additional calibration, but I’ll run some.
Thank you!!!
