Loose Componet

I unpacked my machine, set it up, and when homed for the first time I noticed this little rubber cover on the cool plate. I searched all over for an hour trying to find where this thing goes. I could been looking to hard and just over looked it.

Can anyone please show me a picture of where this goes? You would save the day.

It’s the silicone sock for the nozzle.

If you happen to find that your nozzle already has one on, then I guess you got a spare

Now I just have to figure how to out it back on. Lol

It should be form fitted and just slip back over the nozzle. Friction holds it on.

It slides on like this.

But you can put the sock on without pulling off the hot end assembly

Just thought I’d add that in before the original poster stumbles into a possible can of worms considering I get the impression the OP might be fairly new to this

Certainly. The video I referenced shows how to replace the hot end – but, the OP only needs to follow the video from the point in my link.

I love that you put the video link in your reply

I actually followed that video when I swapped out my hot end

Bryan Vines at BV3D is awesome

For reference purposes I’ve attached a few pics on the orientation of the silicone sock

It only goes on in one direction, the cut out on the top is to clear the wiring for the thermistor and ceramic heater

When it’s in the right orientation the sock almost clicks into its home
