Very new to Makers World and using the features. I’m trying to figure out what I might be doing wrong when creating a PrintMon Model.
I type in the detail of what I’d like it to create, such as: “A unicorn with detailed mandala art engraved” And the picture it creates is a good starting point. A cute little horse model that has some intricate drawing on it. Mandala art/design = a random filigree type design drawn on the model.
The issue is when I then tell it to ‘Create’ the Model. What it gives me is a model that loses all of the detail of the ‘mandala’ design and instead is just blobs of color where the ‘mandala’ design would’ve been. Mandala art/design = a random filigree type design drawn on the model.
Can someone help me understand why it loses all the detail when I then go to the step of ‘creating the model’? Or if there’s a better way that I should be doing this?
Images of what I ask it to design (looks great) and then what it creates as the final idea.
You’re not doing anything wrong, thats just a limitation of the AI used to make the models, its making something quick and cheap (in terms of processing power) that fits the model, its not going to sit there and generate a highly complicated and detailed model because that would take a lot more processing power and time and on that sort of model the detail is also likely to be immediately eaten by the slicer when you slice it anyway because unless you’re printing that using the entire build volume a .4 nozzle likely isn’t going to give you that level of detail
Thank you for the reply. I’m not great with software so I was hoping that the AI would be able to help me get started with what I’m trying to do.
Long before getting a 3D printer I’ve been a henna artist and design a lot of my own art that I then put on people - with henna. I’ve found how to engrave these designs onto wood or journals using my Glowforge as I can just scan the picture in to be engraved. However, I’m struggling to find a way to print my designs in a 3D type format. I’d love to be able to design figurines that then have my designs engraved onto them.
By any chance to you have a recommendation of software that might be the most user friendly to be able to achieve a result like that?
For organic models like that you’re probably looking at the likes of Blender, although it has a somewhat steep learning curve, i believe zbrush might also work but i’m not really super familiar with that side of the software spectrum as i mostly do parametric modelling
