when I try to move in Y from the display on the printer, it moves diagnal.
one of the pics attached shows what I am trying to print, another shows the reusult, and the last is the flat cable is not in the bearing like it should.
any know whats going on here?
do I need to buy a new flat cable?
I don’t know what has caused this.
I’m not sure what could have gotten it off track but it looks like it’s shredding itself on the housing. Maybe the tensioner is loose? I would say definitely get a new belt, and when you put it on make sure the tensioners are good.
Something has gone horribly wrong. Either a stepper has seized or one of the pulleys. Either way the belt needs to be replaced. So take it off and find out what else is stuck. @PrinterMcgee has linked the wiki article to do this.
with the power off and pull the head towards me it pulls the head to the left while I am pulling straight forward. I would guess the stepper motor is bad the way it sounds. It make a grinding noise.
i guess i will make a ticket, I bought it Nov 4, 2024.
I turned it on and homed it, then I use the jog in Y towards me and when it get 3/4 to me, when I push the Y it starts making a grinding noise and moves diagnal towards me and to the left. going back away from me it moves normal.
