Normally the slicer time estimate and what shows on the printer screen is normally pretty accurate.
So currently on this print that I’m doing, the estimates are WAY off… The print is a small part but I have 50 of them on the print bed.
The slicer estimates around 10 hours. After starting the print I bumped up the speed to ludicrous mode and the print ends up taking maybe 15 hours!
What would cause this to happen? Is it possible that putting it on ludicrous speed is actually making it slower?
Ludicrous speed definition. Calibrated to use the maximum flow of a 0.6mm nozzle at a 0.28mm layer height and adjusting speeds to shapes & filament types. It’s hardwired firmware in the printer & will override gcode created by the slicer. The printer is working at capacity, regardless of slicer settings. Other changes include 10% infill, 2-3 layer walls, changed from whatever slicer settings are requested. Your posting this question depicts an assumption of slicer result based on unobtainable volumetric speeds for the hotend chosen. Aftermarket hot ends may reach these time estimates, but may not be available for bed slinger models, since bed movements effect bed adhesion as the model grows vertically. That’s a whole other topic.
