LW TPU from Esun

Just noticed that Esun is now selling a LW foaming TPU for a good price (On Amazon) I had previously only found this from Colorfab, and- it was quite a bit more expensive.

Eager to try it out, Ive been really happy with other Esun filaments. Hopefully they bring more colors for the LW TPU!

Is this the same as the varioShore TPU? we had just started a tpu thread about it as well. If yes and you try this new stuff, can you attempt the shore varie tests to see if we can change the type like they did in the tests online?

Yes- Colorfab’s Varioshore- I could have been more specific.

Its supposed to be variable with heat settings, just like the Varioshore tpu. I’m not sure how to test the shore hardness, but I can definitely compare to the Colorfab Varioshore, I have some onhand.

Oh wow you do! It’s ultra expensive here in canada just for a test.

Really only the meters will test properly they start at around 20 bucks on amazon. Otherwise it’s your fingers haha

really the test we want is to see if the stuff printing with the 95A profile (for feeding filament really less printing) can be varied like the tests on the cnc/yt video there in the other thread to try and get it to 60A on the plate itself.

So like spool is 95 or whatever → boden tube to DD drive → extruder > is all 95A but using their gimmics in the videos on the plate itself it’s blowing raspberries making 60A you know?

The issue is avoiding buying 60A stuff that is impossible to feed into the printer, with stuff that can be fed but turns into the soft stuff.

nobody tried tried this on the bambu’s yet - all their printer tests were on MK3’s and enders…so we just want to see if bambu here will do it - or cry like a baby haha so if it can feed, and it doesn’t mine the temp change to drop the hardness, then you don’t need to test more and can leave it to the rest of us semi-confirmed it feeds and doesn’t jam for the most part. IF this works, AND the temps make it softer good enough for us!

We can then buy some 80 buck rolls and do our own part testing for the applications we need knowing that at least the printer won’t choke

EDIT: I was just jiber jabbering above. I’m aware you don’t feed this direct or via certain bodens it was for a simpler description. Please feed the tpu properly and not break the printer phew! I wrote that fast pre-coffee in excitement this morning when I saw you had some. thanks!

The Varioshore I’ve run in my Bambu’s was handled just like any other filament. For the A1 and A1 minis, I hung it on the spool holder and poked it through the tube to the extruder. I don’t think Ive used it in my X1C, but I dont see reason for it not to do fine unplugging the AMS tube and feeding directly into the back.

I haven’t had it out lately, but the filament on the spool feels pretty similar to the usual (Overture) 95a I buy, and can definitely get softer prints running a higher temp (more foaming).

The crude results for me were- Varioshore LW TPU is much better for making items that need more flex, squishy compliance than the 95A standard TPU.

Tire in Varioshore LW TPU

I absolutely adore that tire, I must get some of this stuff! So the verdict is a simple esun LW foamy? can you possibly link the exact tire you used from the company so we can source it local/amz? Thanks!

I was referencing the 95 stuff as the profile is in the machine, but you understood what I meant thanks for the additional info as well.

So it looks like this foamy new stuff handles well in bambu and we can finally get around to making what you did above - all in RC parts because you KNOW they want different knobby tires!

( I wonder if we can print a soft tpu plane? but not so soft…you know? HMMM )

Do you mean link the ESun TPU?

I checked amazon for the link and didn’t see it now- In my orders it now says currently unavailable! Hopefully this is temporary.

I’ll post more info when it arrives

oh I love esun it’s theirs? I thought we were talking the vari above apologies. I’ll go take a look! On amazon I can grab esun most things for 21 cdn a roll, it’s really hard to beat!

But any link from anyone or any site to actually “see” what you got in hand would help.

This is great thank you for all the help and info not just for me but others in the tpu threads. I’ll link this one later

I’ve looked a few times now, it’s no where to be found on amazon shortly after I ordered… I was able to find it on the esun website, link below.
