Magnetic Levitation Design Contest – Question About Allowed Levitation Methods

I have a question about the Magnetic Levitation Design Contest, which starts on November 3.

The contest description mentions that participants can use the Magnetic Levitation DIY Kit or another similar system.

Is this type of system required to participate in the contest, or can we also use other methods of levitation or magnetic suspension?

For example, would something similar to my older project, Magnetic UFO, be accepted?

I have a few ideas based on this concept, but I’m not sure if I should start working on them or if they would be rejected from the contest.

I don’t speak for Bambu, but the intent is pretty clear from the full contest rules.

I also don’t know what Bambu will say but when I look at your UFO, although I believe it’s a string held up magnetically, from the photo it looks like a rigid wire. If I was a good EO I would look carefully and check the design files, but if I was just going by photo I might assume it was a wire.

Of course, the real answer is that competition rules will be poorly enforced and flooded with AI, and who knows what is allowed? I am still upset over the “battleship” competition, in which almost no one knew what a battleship is.

I don’t think there’s anything morally wrong when the rules say “you can use your own self-designed magnetic levitation components or the Magnetic Levitation DIY Kit”
