Hello guys and girls,
this is my first topic. If I did something wrong with the categories pls let me know. So now I start with my problem:
I made a Vase with the tool Make My Vase by BambuLab. I think it is great.
Personall I had the problem, that the Vases had holes with the setting of the Spiral vase in the Vase Mode. So I started to use the category “normal” with a thickness of 0.8 mm because I ony have a 0.4 nozzle in my A1 Mini and wanted to have the wall a thickness of two lines.
Until now everything is fine and I did some Vases i liked.
Then I wanted to print it with PETG HF because that material is better for outdoor usecases and more resistent to the sun (right?).
Then I have problems occured. Of course I did change to the new filament in the slicer and everythin looked fine. But now I have the problem that in the front part there are some holes:
Do you know what theproblem is? I had no problems with the PLA I used before. These are the settings:
I get some white lines in the slicer. Do they are relevant? They are at the points wehere the failures are.
Thank you guys for your help!
Die Sachen welche man so einfach sehen kann, sind nicht immer die Sachen die ein Problem verursachen
Vase mode can be tricky, especially when the path is full of kinks and fine details, like those decorative lines you created.
For such details, even in vase mode, a slow(er) print speed might be required.
Take a look at the preview.
If you fine areas where the line does not have support from below than this can cause issues.
And then there is this slight conundrum with the layer height…
Vase mode is fast, so using just 0.8mm seems only too logical, especially if there is overhangs involved.
What you call white spots, the chart on the right says is seems - something you won’t have in vase mode.
Do you want to print in vase mode or in normal mode ?
Both need attention in different areas and both require a matching filament calibration for best results.
You can only have 1 wall in vase mode, your print was printed in normal mode not vase mode. It also wouldn’t have the white lines (seams) if it was in vase mode.
Thank you for the answer. It is understandable. I also started with the vase mode with PLA. But I had some spots or holes there. That’s why I stopped using the spiral mode and instead used the normal slice function that you have in the maker. I had no problems with PLA there. When I recently switched to PETG HF from BambuLab, the problems shown above occurred.
If I now want to continue to do without the spiral mode and keep the 0.8 mm thickness, what changes are useful to eliminate the problems? Thank you very much.
Changes to consider could be filament calibration, print speeds and maybe the nozzle temp.
When I print big things in vase mode and fast I usually increase the nozzle temp buy 5 to 10ºC.
