Makerworld competitions - frightening - sad

Hello,

One thing in advance - I think it’s great that there are competitions and that people make the effort to organize and “evaluate” them.

I haven’t been on Makerworld long and every model is in the eye of the beholder - the creator - what is beautiful or not for other users.

What I’m wondering, however, is that it’s certainly a lot of effort for admins to upload some of the rubbish in order to take part in a competition - sorry.

I’m not a professional, but I at least read through the competition task and the requirements - an example - jets - cockpit figure - 99% don’t fulfill this “task” at all.

I saw this post by chance - what does this have to do with Valentine’s Day?

And why is this model in a bag competition in China?

2 different accounts? Stolen model?

In short, it’s shocking how much there is here and how many users really make an effort and receive little to no appreciation.

I know that a portal like this requires a lot of work in the background and I appreciate that too - but what should you do as a user? Report such strange users/models, ignore them, or else correctly?

Wish everyone a nice day and a sunny weekend.

(I’m german - google translater) :grinning:

There’s no user connection possible between MakerWorld Global and MakerWorld China. Alshough models get synced from global to china, that’s not the case on the reverse. So same chinese creator can have accounts on global and chinese and posts on global with disabled sync to chinese so there’s no duplication.

That’s where it fits better imho
Also - while it’s not possible to have model join 2 contests on MakerWorld, it’s possible for a model to compete in 2 contests in separate places (also, there’s no rule against making a model for contest on MW, adding it on the matching contest on other sites)

The platform gives you the possible action here:

Click in the upper right corner of the Cover Photo of the model that in your opinion is relevant to contest and choose report:

obraz

and then select the reason:

obraz

Remember - this is only available from contest page, you won’t get that reason availalbe from model’s page.

After selecting reason and writting why you think it’s irrelevant - submit the report and that’s it.

In case your report is successful, the model will be removed from contest and the point penalty will be haded out.

Thank you for the insightful answer. I don’t want to offend or insult anyone here, it’s just partly incomprehensible at first - especially since you yourself may be banned or models will fly out of exclusive status. Well then…
