Only 86 of my 637 models have achieved over 100 downloads.
One has garnered 19,600 it is a huge swing on my models.
I have models I thought would have been far more successful and some surprise me they have so many downloads as they were meant to be funny.
Several people downloaded my “Rim Job”!
637 models! In your case, my proposed optional section Most Downloaded is almost a must. In conjunction with the Most Underrated section, it can make it easier to showcase the popular models while also giving your own favorites a place to stand out.
With that many models, sorting them into sections is not enough a solution. Perhaps within each section, allow creators to order their own models by downloads by default. I see that there is already an option for sorting models by downloads, but the default is by New Uploads.
This is why I have been crying out for this expansion for months.
I hoped the effort in categories would get there, but, as soon as they started, they stopped.
You can follow categories, but, hardly anyone does, most ply because there is no single place to benefit from that choice.

I would like to explain why I think it is worthwhile for @MakerWorld to invest some man-hours on this.
For most designers, most of their models hardly see the light of day. However, almost everyone has one or two models that are more popular than the rest. When a user downloads or prints these one or two, it’s like a customer walks into a local store to buy a cold drink. If the store has all of its products neatly displayed on their respective shelves, this customer may see somehting else they want and get it too.
Having models grouped into sections like MW homepage does is like having products displayed on their shelves. However, the current situation is like the store has all its product piled up in a corner. The chance of this customer go picking through the pile is slim.
I have not seen any platform that has recognized the importance of this opportunity for additional sales and done something about it. All platfomrs provide the collectin feature but that’s like having products stored inside bins. A customer will have to open the bins and pick through them. MW can be the first to do something about this.
