MakerWorld points usage

If I redeem MakerWorld points for gift cards, can I use the gift cards to buy filament or accessories,or other items from the BambuLab website?

Yes you can use the gift cards to buy anything from the Bambu Lab’s website. Filament, accessories, replacement parts, printers … everything.

Yep - that’s kind of the only restriction - you have to use the gift cards to buy printers, parts, filament, etc. They don’t spend anywhere else.

Will MW be selling clear acrylic sheets for the H2D

Others have made the obvious points.

A less obvious one. Not all gift cards are equal.

Any gift cards you redeem in exchange for earned points have an expiry period.

This is currently 10 years for most countries.

The expiry period and what it can be used for may be different if you receive a gift card as compensation, a prize or something else from Bambu Lab.

The expiry period is usually much shorter and what can be purchased may be limited to specific categories.

Make sure you know the limitations or you may not be able to use the gift card when or how you wish.

You can also part-use a gift card.

If your order totals £115, the gift cards (from points) are worth £35 each. If you had four gift cards you would use all of them, the balance of £115 would be taken and the last card you used would retain £25 for your next purchase. Just make sure to keep a record to remember for the next purchase. Then the next time, start with the partial gift card followed by the others.

No. I don’t think so, because it can’t cut clear acrylic. There are different kind of lasers and I believe this blue diode laser just shines right through it and doesn’t make a dent.

The upside is that it can engrave some metals which doesn’t work on lasers that can cut clear acrylic afaik

Could you possibly use the cutter tool to score the acrylic then break it cleanly?

At that point I would just take a ruler and a knife? If it is even possible I don’t think it will make breakable curves, let alone complex geometry. I have tried scoring and breaking acrylic in the past and there can be a lot of internal tension in acrylic, making the break deviating from the score easily.

I’m more interested in how opaque opaque acrylic is. If it is even slightly translucent, some funky lighting designs may already be possible.

We are deviating from the topic though, although I think the initial question is already answered
