Makerworld user levels

Not to discredit the guy in this example, but I don’t get what the whole user level is about.

For some reason I am a level 15 in Makerworld. Someone commenting on one of my designs is a level 16. When going over his profile I couldn’t help noticing his stats in Makerworld and now the whole level thing puzzels me even more.

Cane someone explain to me why I am a 15 and this other user is a 16?

What is it all based upon, I don’t understand.

Again, nothing against the user in this example,

My stats at “Level 15”

The other guy at “level 16”

User levels have nothing specifically to do with designing.

The more you interact with the site the more your level goes up. Someone’s level means no more than that.

Heavy bias toward print profiles?

It looks that way indeed.

Bambu needs to:
A) Make it easier for newcomers
B) Gain as much data as possible for MakerWorld
Kinda unfair when comparing the work behind a print profile upload and the creation an original design though. But Bambu is following the typical steps for tech start-ups.

What are you two on about? I see multiple users at level 11 who have not uploaded anything. I saw another at level 17 with 15 similar models and 15 print profiles and a total of less than 50 downloads. Another I see at level 5 has more than 10k downloads, 1k7 likes, and 500+ followers so it isn’t about any of those things and probably no more about model and profile uploads than any other kind of activity on the site.

User level is a vague indication of how much you have interacted with the site and is pretty much worthless fluff.

“7 day trending models” also make no sence at all…

Can anyone from BBL explain this to me?

To understand why you are at level 15 and another user is at level 16, you may need to check the specific criteria and requirements outlined by the Makerworld platform. This information is usually available in the platform’s documentation, FAQs, or community guidelines.
