Manual nozzle cleaning function in the printer?

Hi there!

I’ve had my nozzle blocked several times now. To solve the problem, I have special needles that I can push through the top of the printer head to push the filament out the bottom. That wouldn’t really be a problem if I could tell the printer. The print head should be placed at the front or in the centre and the nozzle should be heated up. But I can’t tell the printer what I want to do.

My solution was to tell the printer to load the filament. When the AMS pulled the filament back because the nozzle was clogged, I had to quickly switch off the printer, manually move the print head to a good position, pull off the PTFE tube and quickly push the filament out from the top with the needle before it got cold again. This is extremely complicated.

I am sure there is a simpler solution, can anyone help me?

nozzles shouldn’t block. There will be a reason. Anyway, write a bit of g-code to do what you want.

Thanks. As usually, when you ask for help, then you find the solution :innocent:

There is a good explanation on the wiki. Somehow didn’t find it before :frowning:

Good. Now others can find it.

Why not? You do realize that these are controls, not just a status display? You can use them to move the printhead wherever you like in large or small steps, raise and lower the bed, activate the extruder in either direction, set nozzle and bed temperatures, adjust fan speeds, etc.

As I wrote, soon after asking I found the wiki article I linked here :innocent:

But yes, until now I only used the controls to move the print plate up and down :innocent:
