Mario’s teeth

This may be one of the strangest request on today’s list of things not to sorry about. The Mario stl files were downloaded and printed @ 500% with great results.

Mt problem is with the teeth. The stl for his teeth are basically a white item with no definition (relief, etc.).

I understand I can paint, bad results.

Really want to finish with a good looking mouth (teeth). A gift got my granddaughter who is a Mario Brothers huge fan.

Ant ideas would of course be appreciated.

I might recommend Dental Implants. They’ve made incredible progress over the years and they look just like the real thing.

But seriously, if you aren’t satisfied with the quality of the model, well… that’s the beauty of this hobby. Simply learn a little Blender and modify it to your hearts content. If you’re running a business, then hire someone. However, if you’re really upset with the designer of the model, you can always demand a refund.

As always you’re correct except for my opinion of the model. My opinion is great on the design of the model…even @ a 500% increase in size. Just looking for some ideas. Have blender…don’t know it but may take a peek. I have a cad program which may or may not solve my problem.

Thanks

This is how remixes start! It’s almost perfect, but there’s just that one thing you need to fix for your use case.

Believe it or not…you appear to be “one” of the most knowledgeable and aware of all things (high tech) regarding the an x1c, my problem so I’m moving and need to package my printer for shipping, unfortunately I discarded the original container…it was a box. I need to do what one would do so secure some of her innards. So do you have in your database a link which may have a dyi for this adventure. Thanks in advance.

I would simply emulate the unpacking in reverse.

I think the two critical areas you would be most concerned with are reattaching the leadscrews and securing the X-Y gantry using cable ties similar to how they did in the original box.

As far as the glass door and lid goes. How might one pack up glassware or dishes? Well… use the same technique for the door and the glass top. Unfasten the door and remove the glass, pack it well inside of bubblewrap and cardboard and place it in it’s own box and you should be good to go.

Last but not least, disconnect the control panel and wrap that separately.

I would also pay close attention to wrapping the entire printer in bubble wrap and securing it inside of it’s own carton.

If you live near a UPS store, they will do all of this for you for a fee. But I still would remove the glass door and control panel and pack it inside the printer with plenty of bubble wrap to ensure it does not flop around but not so tight so that the contents apply pressure to the glass or components.

The key with bubblewrap is you want it to be the sacrificial component when a carton gets crushed but you don’t want it to be packed so tight so that it causes force around the object being protected. Remember, glass doesn’t bend. :yum:
