Although my longer Orange 4K mono still works well, the increased ease of use and speed with the new series of Elegoo Mars 5 ultra finally made me decide to step up to a more modern small format printer. Plus, Longer abandoned their resin printers after the 4K and getting resin profiles is near impossible.
Also got the Mars before any tariffs go into effect.
Have an Anycubic Mono5s Pro for larger format printing. So that’s covered.
Going to some local small game stores to see if they’ll deal with a local maker. Already have example dice towers designed and printed on my A1 and P1S. Will also look at printing some modular terrain and dungeon pieces on those.
Wanted a high res easy to use printer for minis to print and sell.
The Anycubic is designated to print larger figures like dragons. When I saw the price for large dragons in the stores, I about choked. They cost more than large Warhammer figures. In fact one dragon cost almost as much as the Anycubic!
Saw some comments from a couple of print farms talking about how the Mars 5 Ultra has sped up their printing so much, they’ve had to redo their workflow.
So will finally have both great high speed FDM printers and excellent resin printers. (hopefully)
This will give something to do while I work on some industrial part designs of acessories I want to approach some local companies with.
