Massive model theft on Markeronline (Anycubic site)

Hi all,
most of you probably know about the massive model theft on anycubic site (makeronline.com).
They steal our models, use the same titles (mostly in spanish) and simply mirror our images. Those guys are literally doing this 24 hours a day.
I’ve reported tens of models but I think every one here should have a look on their site and report own models and any suspicious model.

just a few examples

Another one:

could do this the whole day

i wouldn’t worry much about makeonline, their website is so bad and unpolished, i stopped posting there since long time (had to create an account there to report stolen design).
the user base there is very low and the download to print ratio is 0% the users seem either they are all thieves or they are all too lazy to post photos of your printed design.
not to mention the points system is glitchy inaccurate and lack of motivation and shipping cost on their products in insane outside the US.

You can report stolen stuff and they will take it down with an apology.

well, I was kind of concerned about my models living out of MW. The thing is, your models are stolen from MW to Makeronline; then from Makeronline ot whatever over site; and so on… So at a certain point it will be hard to prove that a model belongs to you. I mean, it’s a loss of control I don’t want to let be… But agree with you, Anycubic site is definitely a piece of…

Taking down your stolen IP will easy if its on 3D platforms, Etsy and amazon, but it is very hard to take down from Instagram, TikTok, and other e-commerce platforms, as we speak i got a massive hit on my views count just because google is showing search result of social media and website of e-commerce rather than my page on makerworld because my passive views coming from there.
i tried reporting them…insta rejected the claim and tiktok ignored the report, not to mention other websites that does not have copy right claims.
LOL man i found my designs being sold in Trendyol turkey, and some French, German, and Saudi websites (those stolen designs are exclusive to makerworld)

so like i said makeronline is your least worries - the real worry is SOME users in here.

I’m planning on posting a topic about it, I’m just cooking the words so that it does not sound like a rant.

is there a way to report models on MakerOnline without signing up?
I got a message from MakerWorld saying one of my exclusive models has been posted on MO and I need to get it removed.
Unless I’m missing something, I need to sign up on a website I want nothing to do with to report a theft on said site.

Hi,
yeah, you need to register on MO.
The user is @lucy_4432686 and all models are stolen…
I’ve reported your model but you should register. Unfortunately this won’t be the last time…

thanks for reporting.
I ended up signing up and reporting and I see it’s now been removed.
Also reported a few other stolen models and they were removed too.

Another profile on Makeronline, all models stolen from Makerworld. I reported them a few days ago but nothing happened (don’t know why, it usually worked). If you have an account there, try to report it:

At least one of my models is in there.

So, I get to to through the process yet again.

While its not a bad thing to go through the process of taking things down I will say that as a traditional artist and digital painter you often just have to judge whether or not its worth to go through the rigmarole of said process or to just apply something (like a watermark or signature) on a spot that would make it too difficult to remove; like the url on the bottom (and technically back) of a benchy.

It sucks and if you have it in you to go through the takedown process then please do so by all means but you can’t be certain you got them all and so adding even an svg of your url or signature to your prints is always a good idea for those instances. If it uses an ams/mms/whatever then maybe even a qr code.

Either way I know it sucks but there is also a small part of me that is like ‘‘welp; welcome to the club i guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯’’ since AI has absolutely emboldened the types of people who steal other people’s work. (Not ALL AI users but just the ones who already were… lets say already lacking in morals).

It is too easy to add a primitive object to cover the protection.

Ditto.

Exactly.

This makes it easier for them and increases the likelihood, as they know there aren’t any consequences.

The better sites have the means to monitor users for such incidents and will begin a process of restriction, penalisation and eventually expulsion.

Expecting sites to police everything online is an impossible task sadly because shadier ones with lax moderation will always reappear.

Choosing your battles is the way to go because otherwise its just an endless game of wack-a-mole.

Also if/when your makes get popular enough the qr code/url/signature’s blockage/removal actually becomes a boon in disguise: its proof that your model has been modified without permission since reporting you can say “i uploaded this on <x> site on <y> date and they uploaded a modified one <z number of days/months/years later” which is a dounle-whammy when it comes to copyright and/or trademark.
