Matte Filament has killed my A1 nozzle (? Cleaning,Nozzle Quality)

I have had a few prints with matte filament in the last few days. Nothing big, just smaller Easter egg models to keep the heating bed movements to a minimum.

Error messages have been accumulating:
I can’t remember the exact error codes

  1. broken filament or something like that. Could be easily fixed by trying again each time.
  2. nozzle clog. This was apparently also an incorrect error message. Because this also continued with retries.
  3. Feeding problems. This now occurred very frequently, several times in one print. I first suspected the AMS Light and then the strongly bent PTFE hoses on the stroke.

Finally it seems to have been a blockage. I could no longer get this nozzle to work and have now replaced it with a hardened nozzle from my stock.

Now I have a few questions?

  1. is it possible that the matte filament is not suitable for the “NOT hardened” nozzle?
  2. how do I get the nozzle clean again? (It is not recognizably dirty from the outside)
  3. is there a difference in print quality between the hardened and non-hardened nozzle?

I’ve had issues with matte filament, but nothing like clogging. IMO, matte flows a little too well. That said, matte PLA is made by adding plant matter to the plastic, so possibly? You don’t say what brand it is. I have noticed that matte seems to be more affected by humidity, so, how dry is your filament?
I have had frequent feed issues with matte in the AMS Lite, so I’ve switched to using it exclusively through the external spool.
I switched to the hardened nozzle fairly early on, because I occasionally print Glow in the Dark filament, which is abrasive. I’ve seen no difference at all in quality, and have never switched back. I keep the stainless nozzle around as a spare.
