Merging 2 objects of the same height with one objects colour on top

Hi All!

I’m merging 2 objects together with the same height. Object A is complete white and Object B is multiple hearts with different colours.

Ive done it once and the hearts go over that white layer so you can see the full heart. Then i wanted to do it again but the white part goes over the top instead of the coloured heart.

Is there a way i can always make it so when i merge an object, i can choose which object is on top? Why did it do it once but not the second time? Same copy and pasted objects just slightly mirrored and rotated.

Changing which colour goes first doesnt help either.

Your help would be great!

If you merge objects, you can change the order in the objects panel (left side of the screen).

Select an object in the merged group and drag it up or down.

Changing them around didnt change the outcome.

The first one that is correct doesnt change either - it stays correct despite the hearts being the first objects.

Are you able to share the 3mf file?

Appreciate your help!

OK.

I hate to say this, but, when I said …

You missed this part.

This is your second plate, the one with the issue.

To make it easier for you to understand what you need to do, I renamed the 5 coloured hearts as “heart” in the layers list and then dragged them to the bottom so they are rendered at the bottom.

This is how you have them printed first and other items above them.

Have you looked at the file I gave back?

Apologies for the delay - Australia time zone.

YOU’RE A LEGEND! I was an idiot when originally moving and moved the wrong stuff. I get it now.

Worked perfectly. I super appreciate you!

Of this we can agree.

You are welcome.

I suspected it was the case, so I asked to see the file.
