Merging STL files in to one, top file not showing in preview

Hey friends!

First time poster here so apologies for my naivety.

I’ll try and get to the point: I have two STLs, I am trying to make a “Ceramic Stamp” so I need to sit one STL on top of the other. My problem is, that when I merge the files, then put the one on top, when I go to slice the plate, it doesn’t show that its going to print the to object.

Here is what it looks like in the Prepare tab:

Here is what it looks like after slicing it:

(please ignore plate 1 in the screenshots, I just made copies of the two individual STLs so I did not lose them lol - only using plate 2 for this!)

More details:

  • Bambu P1S
  • 0.4 nozzle
  • Textured PEI Plate
  • I am a noob!

My best guess is that its a thickness problem, but having no skills whatsoever I do not know how to increase the thickness to make it printable, without increase the size and scale. Especially since when I go to print just the speech bubble on its own… it doesn’t let me, but if I blow it up in size, it works.

So to make a long question… short? Is there a way for me to JUST increase the thickness of those thin line walls so that it can print? While keeping the rest of the scale as its current size (or close as possible). Apologies if I am asking for the impossible! :worried:

Please forgive me if this has already been solved… I could not find a solution that worked for me, outside of trying to completely redesign the logo myself in CAD or blendr, which I do not know how to use, but will learn if I must!

Thank you again!

Details do disappear after slicing if they are thinner than the line width. You might try using the measure tool to check the intended thickness.

Sometimes using the Arachne wall generator instead of Classic helps with very thin parts. Or specify a 0.2 nozzle and see if that slices OK.

I would be concerned that even if you can get it to slice and print, the stamp might be too delicate to be useful.

Switch the wall type to archane

just wanted to say thank you as this did work!

thank you this did work, but agreed it is a bit flimsy. Though since its for a ceramic stamp, it looks as though its holding just to lightly press into the clay!

No problem, glad I could help.
