Mesh boolean doesnt work after new update

since the update mesh boolean doesnt work anymore. am i able to remove the update and go back to the previous version until this issue is fixed?

It appears to be working

I have frequent issues using the mesh boolean function in both BS and Orca. Sometimes it help to run the STL though a fix STL before trying to mesh it.

Can you try removing a negative shape from a positive shape? Union and interaction works ok for me. But subtracting a negative shape from a positive shape doesn’t work anymore

yeah ive always had that issue. however fixing it makes no difference anymore. Nothing I do is allowing me to subtract a simple negative cylinder from a slightly larger positive cylinder

Sometimes it helps to export the STL then use the “add-part” function to load it to the other item. Then magically it works.

That also appears to be working

Oh ok. Thanks, I’ll give that a try

Am I able to upload a video here? Maybe you can spot what I’m doing wrong?

youtube vids upload yes , but im no expert, all i did was add a primitive then a part, which will switch to object mode , select cube and mesh

Yes, this is a very inconvenient. Luckily I had the install file for the previous version still in my downloads and installed that and it worked again. I like the idea of being able to subtract multiple items at once, but they should test it before deployment.

Does anyone know if they fixed this yet? I think it would be good being able to mesh multiple objects instead of repeating it for each piece. Still working with older version.

This problem is still present in the newest version.
Version 2.4.0.70 on macOS

It’s still a regular occurrence. I find once the boolean fails once, it just won’t work at all with that model afterwards. I’ve given up half way through so many projects because it just fails every time. It’s incredibly frustrating. I hate this damn app

I’m having this problem right now and it’s extremely frustrating. There is not even any error message to hint at what might be wrong, if anything, with what I’m trying to do.

Same here. Pretty annoying. A - B = A, strange. Just deletes B but doesn’t remove B from A. No error here either. It’s just ignoring my commands ■■■■■■!

Same issue here. It just deletes B instead of subtracting from A.

The problem remains the same and it’s the end of August! How can we contact the software developer?

I haven’t been able to fix the problem, but for a while now instead of using boolean to union parts, I’ve been “merging them”, then “merging to a single part”. This causes far fewer issues. I also use the cut tool instead of the subtract tool as much as I can. This seems to give me more room to use boolean when I absolutely have to. But the main problem remains.

*when using “merge in to a single part”, the fix tool has to be used, and this can only be done a few times before it damages the model so it’s not a perfect work around. I try to click “fix model” as infrequently as possible as it ironically creates a lot of weird artifacts
