Hi everyone, I am an engineer and part time metalsmith. I am looking at the Virtual Foundry metal impregnated filaments for some art projects. I have a small Rio Grande (jewelry supply) kiln with a controller so I can debind and sinter, at home, in my studio. I have an A1 Mini and will soon purchase, what else, I need, from Virtual Foundry. I have traded many emails with their customer service and I have been told NOT to use the filament in the AMS or AMS Lite because the spools won’t fit on the lite and their filament requires their “warmer” which won’t work with the regular AMS system - although I might try to kludge something together because IF you need support/trees, and don’t have another filament, you have to use the main filament which is wasteful. I might start a seperate topic for this subject.
You might just need a spool adapter for it to fit…but it’s possible the filament is too rough & could destroy the AMS gears.
The thing you might have to do, is not use the bowden tube…for the same reason as posted above.

hmm, good idea about the spool adapter; I asked about respooling and they suggested against it due to the filament getting a set curve. I am also looking into one of the open source AMS systems to see if I could be done that way. This is going to take time to sort out.
