Micro lidar camera malfunctioning on x1c

Had the machine for just over 1 month. and yesterday I received a Micro Lidar camera malfunction error.
I have read the wiki. and tried unplugging and replugging connectors. I have contacted support. but is this a common issue ?
I hope its an easy fix. waiting on support. A touch disappointed as I thought this machine would be a bit more reliable. Coming from enders its a massive improvement but didn’t think it’d throw an error this early in the game. I see some users report that it is the usb c cable so i ordered a spare one whilst waiting on bambu support. couldnt imagine it’d be the cable after 1 month of use though? guess will find out.

You may want to check that the flexible magnetic sheet is properly seated at the back of the machine.
When this happened to me, that was the problem.

Yep definitely seated correctly . It comes up with the error as soon as i turn the machine on. :frowning:

What is the exact error message?

HMS_0C00_0100_0002_0002 is the error that I am constantly getting . Bambu engineering got back to me and they are sending a new usb cable and lidar unit… . Fingers crossed thats my solution.

Glad to hear BL is helping! Good luck!

Bah!!!. I have given up on this machine. Back and forth a few times with bambu on the lidar not working. They have sent out a new TH board and usb-c cable and a 2x lidar units.
Replacing all these and I am seeing the same error. I cant use my lidar, This is ridiculous brand new machine and replacement parts not helping.

I have the same problem but my printer have 2 days… I try to unplug and plug everything cant fix it :frowning:

thankfully after trying for ages support has offered me either refund or a replacement machine. They have been rather helpful. So there’s that. I am not sure why the lidar just stopped working and I am guessing there’s a glitch somewhere. even after replacing all the boards and Lidar units.
I cant complain about the customer service.

I’ve had my printer less than 2 months and I’m still waiting for support to get back to me as the LiDAR has stopped working and won’t level the bed. I’ve asked for a refund or replacement as soon as possible as I run a business and customer orders are on hold. Is this a known issue for the LiDAR to stop working ? Is there a fix and how long does it take for support to get back to you?

Just thought I’d mention that the lidar appears to be very sensitive to lighting conditions. It sounds like a, “No duh,” thing, but I mean weirdly sensitive.

My ceiling LED pot lights will trigger the error when they’re dimmed. The spacer over the top glass, which holds my AMS has some 12V LED strips under it. That triggers errors at full brightness. Hell, I swapped the stock diffuser on the stock LED bar with a slightly more transparent version (adds maybe 20% more light) and that triggered the error for a while. (I’ve since changed my start gcode, so I don’t know if this is still a problem.)

Try eliminating other light sources before you send a print. It might help.

My X1C was delivered 08/04/2023. Yesterday i had suddenly the same effect, several failure-codes relating lidar, failed prints with ugly Layer 1 -errors.

After checking all cables relating the wiki-entry steps 1 to 4 (who the hell designed this case? Looks like a ducati-motorcycle from the 70th, around 20 screws to open the backpanel to check the cabling of the mc?) the error disappears. Hopefully it works now for a longer time.

I just received mine yesterday. Pulled it out of the box, followed the Quick Start guide, and received the error the very first time the thing was powered on. I clear the error and it randomly shows up. I’ve only tried 7 different small prints, none have come out perfect using the Bambu sample PLA Basic they shipped. Most were the built in prints that come on the X1. Still trying to get familiar with the printer and all it’s nuances. I’ll be contacting support if this Lidar error keeps popping up.

There’s no lights on in my office and I don’t have any leds on either just the light in the printer. I’m constantly getting layer 1 failed error code: abnormally failed. Spoke with support for a replacement or a refund and they’ve said no because I’m past the 14 day return window. Luckily in the uk we have the consumer rights act 2015 whereby if they sell to the uk consumers they have to abide by our laws and legally I’m entitled to a repair, replacement or full refund regardless of their 14day return and still covered by the warranty. Don’t be fobbed off if they say they won’t refund. It seems they spent more on marketing than the printer. I think the reason for all the spare parts in the store is because they know the printer won’t last. Seems to be a bit of a con.

I got a X1C since a couple of days. Before every print I get lidar error msg. It’s either
HMS_0C00_0100_0002_0002: Micro Lidar camera is malfunctioning
or
HMS_0C00_0100_0001_0001: Micro Lidar camera is offline

I unplugged it and plugged back in. This has helped for two prints, then the message showed up again.

I dont have much light in the area of the printer. Could anybody solve this problem somehow or with replacement parts from BL?

Hey there. Have you been able to solve the problem with the Lidar ?

Not even close.
I replaced the Lidar and the cable. It took me about 2 hours.
Now they send me a new toolhead board to replace. I guess this is going to take me a half a day. :frowning:
Bambu seems to have a quality management problem. It rarely happens that a producer ships a device that does not work and doesnt know how to fix it.
If you have the same problem, I will be up for a wild ride.

Oh, not good. In that case I will be using OrcaSlicer for now. Flow rate set, PA set - i e don’t really need the Lidar. Only when selling the machine it might be a “problem” I am not really willing or able to to do all the tech stuff, aka as engineering work on the printer… Changing or cleaning a hot end, fine, but dissassembling the machine… no.

I absolutely understand you. I’m also worried to make it worse than better when I open the printer to change vital parts.
On the other side you paid for a working product. You could still try to send it back or get at least a discount for a not fully working printer.

I received my unit 8 days ago. After printing out my Bambu Scrapper in day 1, now my Lidar is dead. I have asked to get a refund for this unit, so I can just order another one online and start using it ASAP.

this is great!
