Handy or not handy

Can be handy - but be very careful when you put the extension into the actual SDCard slot - it can bend/break the pins inside the slot, and the slot will be unusable.

Sand/file the extension so that there are no sharp corners.

It depends.

Some systems use a physical switch on the card socket to detect a card has been removed or inserted. Other systems electrically check the card pins.

If Bambu uses the first scheme you will have to pull the adapter in and out every time you change the SD card anyway. Someone needs to try it or maybe ask Bambu.

Another printer I have uses the first scheme but has a menu to re-read the card.

If you want to use this because you are swapping cards all the time I would get a micro to full size SD card adapter because the full size cards are more robust and less fiddly.

It doesnt work, This is not a proper SD card extender and I don’t believe that such
even exists. A proper extender would have an electromechanical
component such that when you remove the SD card from the extender,
the part of the extender in the original SD card slot would mechanically
release the “SD card present” switch. That, in turn tells the laptop/camera/bot/whatever
that the SD card has been removed and to re-set the state of the file
system software.
