I am considering getting a used Microsoft Surface Pro X, which has an none basic CPU, it’s an ARM Processor, is there any version of Bambu Studio that will work, I wanted it for the ability to colour my 3D Prints before sending them to print?
Thanks in advance and sorry if it has been asked before, I did do a search but no avail
I think this is a good question and would like to know myself with the new Surface Pro Co-Pilot PCs being Arm based.
Answer:
The Microsoft Surface Pro X is a Windows 10 ARM-based device that can run 64-bit (ARM64), 32-bit (ARM32), or 32-bit (x86) (using x86 emulation) apps and drivers. It will not install 64-bit applications that have not been ported to ARM64 without emulation support.
Conclusion:
No. BL Studio is a 64 bit app.
The simple answer; no, there is no ARM-Specific Windows version of Bambu.
However… If you read Microsoft’s tech literature, the claim that 32bit programs will run using “App Assure”. Here is a rather technical explanation of that claim from Microsoft.
Here’s the less technical marketing page.

On a more curious note, we do have evidence that the Orca Slicer can run on an ARM processor but this is an Apple version. But note this is simply a curiosity and proves nothing.
Of course, Microsoft makes their compilers and dev environments now free for personal use. So it’s simple matter of you just downloading the source code and compiling it into an ARM executable… should be easy… right? What could possibly go wrong?
They even have step by step instructions, all you need is a CompSci degree. Or enough fortitude to just soldier through and try.
Just necromancing this thread. I have the new pro 11, studio works just fine, as do most x86 or 64bit apps.
The only thing that doesn’t seem to work is the camera feed, annoying but I just use my phone for now until bambu update support for arm.
Hi, did you get the camera feed working by any chance? I’m interested in getting a surface.
Hi, I’ve not tried it on my surface for a while but I’m about to print something so will test again and let you know.
