lol sure, whatever you say. I’m not gonna start arguing
Make no mistake MAD and Harvey Kurtzman had agenda, and still do.
Ah, I read that a little later than ‘74, think I had found it around 9. Giggled at the finger.
If I remember the delinquent that was contributing to my own delinquency there was a problem with that cover. I remember the 70’s vaguely. It was a heavy time for some, but no one would have let that cover go without a brown papers strip covering most of it.
By “uploaded” you mean to the printer (via the Bambu server), to Makerworld as a private design, or Makerworld as a public design?
If the latter, mnmm, yeah, I wouldn’t care, and I don’t think whether its humor or offensive really matters (to try to parse that perfectly), it matters what kind of experience Bambu wants people to have browsing its collection publicly.
I was told that it meant Peace Among Worlds.
Right?
lol I had to “explain” it cos I didn’t post a picture and there are so many middle fingers you can imagine. I see you just want a fight, sorry mate if I don’t give you one
now my model is a matter of “won’t somebody think of the children!?” lol
“it matters what kind of experience Bambu wants people to have browsing its collection publicly.”
I would’nt have a problem with that but on MW;
- there’s PLENTY of models of JUST the hand with a middle finger up, without even any context
- there’s PLENTY of even way more suggesting models
- most of them don’t even have the NSFW tag
my point is: give me consistency. if you read their guidelines my model wouldn’t even fall under any restriction. they just enforce it at random
Not looking for an argument. I’m making a point.
I’m not trying to offend you. Even posting the picture I’m sure there are quite a few who wouldn’t get the “joke”. Personally I wouldn’t care if I saw it, would prefer them to be NSFW. My opinion is they are low hanging fruit that lack anything other than the juvenile chuckle and feeling you’d get at 10 using cuss words.
I’m not going to get into the whole should they or shouldn’t they. They SHOULD be marked NSFW in any case.
I think it may have been mentioned, but some cultures/people revere their elderly and honor them. They have a high standing in their communities and definitely within their families. May not be the middle finger but the combination of the two.
Scotsman living in the USA for 40+ years here. I was back in the UK for a trip some years ago and my friend who I was staying with was a high-up at the BBC. She was wondering about allowing a director to use the C-word in a play. I begged her not to. The C-word has always been my nuclear level swear word and I didn’t feel it was right to let it loose like that. But she did allow it and along with others that OK’d its use it is now heard a lot - in the UK. Sadly it is getting like that here too.
I’m not any kind of church lady - f*** I’m from Aberdeen! But a lot of people online don’t think about how things are perceived differently in other countries and can offend. I personally find the amount of gun related models not quite right.
But I have to say that if the moderators find a cocked, middle digit NSFW they might want to consider their geographic area’s apparent obsession with cartoon teenagers sporting giant bosoms & ■■■■ outfits. But they are considered OK it seems. A middle finger or a sexualized teenage girl? Hmm, I know what’s worse. LH
Wow! This platform just automagically blanked out the word that ends in XY and starts with an ess and an eee! Now that’s ridiculous!
Not that it matters, but your gender is confusing.
- Name: Lez = could go either way
- Scotsman = male
- Church lady = female
I don’t care, it doesn’t change anything and a bit of mystery is cool. But, my brain couldn’t left it unsaid.
The NSFW flag should be used for far more models. I am the farthest from a prude, as a 53-year-old child, I still enjoy titillation and all the way beyond.
But, I am not the only person around (despite my ego telling me otherwise). The world is big, views and sensibilities range widely.
If designers wish to make such models, all power to them, but it comes with consequences.
The same is true if you use brand IP, as the brands will come for you, even if you don’t sell them, create them as a homage, and do so because the brand doesn’t make the items themselves so no loss of income.
I have been burnt twice now because of this, one of which was for my McDonald’s dip dispensers they don’t sell.
The rules are t clear and most (myself included) do nit know the rules regarding fair use in each country. Bambu Lab don’t care, a claim is assumed correct and action is taken against the potential innocent designer solving an unsolved problem p.
I am a strong believer in real and not cartoon and 21 or (much) older, I don’t mind wearing the s exy outfit.
Agreed, but each time I mention it, I got shot down (see what I did there). I believe they should be given a NSFW tag. If we assume much of the criticism comes from those protecting the (very poorly misinterpreted second amendment), then that reading entitles its use for self defence. Not a toy, not a status symbol and something to revere rather than brandish. For that reason, simpler minds, not just kids should be shown consideration. In my country a madman killed lots of kids, the country decided to outlaw guns for all but those who should (for proven reasons) own, no mass murders since. Many other countries faced with the same situation made the same decision with the same outcome. Weird, empirical evidence.
Yeah, it bans typos when they don’t spell anything a dictionary is aware of either.
Scunthorpe (a town here), but it lets that though, back to our original point.
Brought up on Irn-Bru I imagine, a drink I hadn’t tried until I was 50, nice.
Malc - the Lez moniker came about because, from day one of landing here, septics wanted to call me “Less”. I started using Lez as I was used to the sound of my name. Then, natch, some wags started saying “Like in lesbian!?”. I also hadn’t heard “Less is more” before and grew weary of that too. Such a simple name, and I have often thought of changing it to something a bit more Scots…
“a point” lol nope. cmon dude, you just wanna argue, that’s all. let’s leave it at that
so many uptight people in this thread
I was surprise in the kind of answers I had tbh
btw I dunno if your name is a reference to the old arcade video game, but I love it!
it is! doesn’t seem like too many people remember it
Split the model in to two parts, the character and the middle finger. The person printing can re-attach the finger before printing perhaps.
IKR? still one of my fav both for the humor and the game itself!
I dunno if that would solve the problem and I can tell people won’t like the hassle.
the problem is that there isn’t a consistency with their rules. there are dozens of models of just a hand with the middle finger up, without even a context or anything that are up without issues.
