yeah it’s exciting because I tagged them directly having worked on beta feedback in the past, I knew who to tag. So don’t be too impressed, and don’t rain on my parade, thank you kind sir, now shoo, shoo, skidaddle…
Is this ever going to be implemented?
I think it’s crazy that we’re at the 1 year mark that the start gcode for the X1 printers motor sounds/music have been in Bambu Studio and still no firmware update to support it. The A1 already has this, same drivers, etc. It should be a basic lift and shift. Put one dev on it for 2 hours and call it done, please @SupportAssistant
I really need to hear some kind of end-of-print music…
definitely needs more cow bell
The H2D has a melody which I’m trying to figure out how to change.
Just got the H2D too. Haven’t checked, but on the X1C Bambu had gcode in the startup gcode that was supposed to play music, but they never updated the firmware. It’s probably there too for the H2D, haven’t been able to find where yet though.
Sigh, was hoping we’d get more news with the latest major firmware update.
I’m ditching my X1, got the H2D. It plays music at startup, print and end, but changing the startup gcode in Bambu Studio with my own music does not work. So it’s still not fully supported even on the H2D which is using the motors to play sound.
I hope they add it for those of you that want it but please make it optional!
it is, there is already a setting to turn off sounds
Hey, about that, I remember our earlier posts about this. And they NEVER did come around to updating the X1C’s firmware and let us play personal tunes.
And yes it’s been in the startup gcode for sooo long…
Anyway hopefully with our H2D’s they will actually come around?
I made a rough midi gcode and replaced the start up sound with it and it works, no problem.
What’s your issue?
I did the same thing and heard no change. I guess I’ll test it again, maybe something was wrong with the midi gcode.
The midi gcode should only have 2 types of gcode which are neccessary, a start with M17 (steppers ON), then a bunch of M1006 (Activation of each steppers for playing the music), that’s all that is required.
You could have a M18 (steppers OFF) at the end but the machine gcode will start with one anyway for resetting the steppers. There might be some M73 in between the M1006 as well which is just for the percentage of progress for the display but unneccessary and one or more M400 which are pauses.
ah I got it to work, the problem was it switched back to the default printer profile and I had to make sure to select the saved/custom user profile when I sent the print job.
Great

for the X1C? or the H2D?

@philch I know it’s been a while since this last post but I’d like to re-echo @AeonJoey 's question [quote=“AeonJoey, post:39, topic:41155”]
for the X1C? or the H2D?

I haven’t tested it in several months, but last time I tried on the X1C, it didn’t work. I also have an H2D to test it on, if you are referring to it.
