Does anyone know what would cause a print failure like this? It doesn’t seem like it’s related to print bed adhesion because all of the base supports have printed.
It looks like a support issue. I’m thinking you might have had build plate only & you needed support somewhere else.
I started having a bed adhesion issue on smaller supports, I looked up info and am going to try 2 layers of raft for this to see if I can keep it from being an issue. I also make sure to keep my plate clean with alcohol wipes after every print and then Dawn power wash every couple days with continuous printing. I’ve had mine a bit longer than a week now.
You might consider a high grip plate like SuperTack or similar.
Hello friends.
I have found that tweaking the automatic tree supports helps a lot with removing easily and minimizing scarring to the model.
Please try these settings in advanced, enable automatic tree supports, type-slim scroll to bottom and change these,
Branch distance- 7mm (distance between two nodes)
Branch diameter- 1mm to 1.5mm (lowest which works for you)
Branch angle- 30 (do not lower this further)
Branch diameter angle- 1(default 5 makes bottoms much thicker)
These can break off almost as easily as resin supports, but remove them from the top as they can break easily, they are much more uniform in diameter than default
You can also change top z distance for minimizing scarring, but default works ok
Please do give these a try, they worked nicely for me
For all those who do not want to go through the hassle of resin2fdm
