The first order I did, they included the reusable spools without me having to do anything. Noticed after that though it gets automatically added to the cart. Ahh, at least they’ve been sending me high-temp spools though, which I actually needed.
There needs to be a spool exchange though. I just end up with so many.
Afaik, the offer is specifically for the high temp spools. Mine were added automatically.
I bought 8 reusable spools as well, as they had a 7.00 credit per spool. I don’t see this offer currently, nor did I see it on the spool page when I made my purchase, but I had added them to the cart previously a couple weeks ago. I still got the 7.00 credit per reusable spools.
I had no idea then, that they had a high temp spools.
Just looking at my invoice, I robbed myself I’d order 11 refills, getting 2 free spools. Doh!
I finally got my cross-country order from last Monday. Though it didn’t show the free spool in the order, there was one in the box. Maybe that was a good thing to come out of the order coming from California - since the time zone is so far removed from me it probably gave Bambu time to realize the mistake before those people even got up to go to work that day. Had my order come from the East coast, like it normally does, I bet I would have been filing a ticket for a missing spool. My next order I’m putting together already shows them in the cart automatically.
It showed for me 4 free spools were added to my cart. I then checked out and paid for my order. I then later realized I was actually charged for them.
When i sent in a support ticket this is what they told me.
Thanks for reaching out to Bambu Lab. This is Anthony from Bambu lab customer support team.
Please note that the free spools are limited quantities. After checking in the system, I regret to tell you that the free spools are unavailable. So we are unable to send the free spools to you with the filaments together.
According to your order information, I checked that you have purchased the spools. These spools are not free as you have paid for them.
We will send the spools to you later this week from the local warehouse, and you will receive an email of the shipping information when the package is sent out.
Appreciate your kind understanding. Have a good day to you.
I will set this ticket as resolved if you don’t have other questions. You will also receive a satisfaction survey questionnaire. We attach great importance to user feedback and look forward to your comments and valuable suggestions on our services.
If you need any help later, you can create a new ticket at any time and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
The only reason the spools were in my cart is becuase they added them as free spools.
I will definitely be watching out for there tactics in the future. They add stuff for free just to have you pay for it, then dont even send it to you in a timely manner. I how have 16 refill spools and waiting on the 4 so called free spools to put them on
It automatically added them, as it did for all those who ordered two days into the sale.
Which country are you in (based on the country store)?
Why would they be sent separately from your filament order if they were not free?
Do they happen to have been added as one line item for each reusable spool, separated by refill spools, or four reusable spools all as a single line item?
@Josh-3D which way was your invoice broken down based on the above paragraph options?
@BambuLab Your broken store caused this, you fix it and give the guy a gift card credit. You screwed this up at the start by not handing out the free spools until you got complaints, changed the store process and pretended nothing changed. It DID I was one of those who was affected by it.
The U.K. hasn’t run out of stock of the reusable spools, yet, the offer is missing as they no longer automatically add themselves to the order as they did from day two of the sale. It says until stocks last and stocks still last!
I didn’t even know that spools didn’t come with the filament. When did that become a thing? I bought a 4-pack in the sale and now have no spools so I can’t use any of it! I’m sure not paying another $12 to get a spool that should be PART of what I bought!
It is part of the purchase choice, granted, the way they show it is not always obvious.
You can buy spools separately, they are expensive, even when in the sale.
Refills are designed to reduce the waste of empty spools being thrown away. All premium and exotic filaments come with one. Depending on stock levels, moist non-premium filaments give you the choice.
You can print one yourself and add your refill packs. I have done this, and it works well. It’s annoying and slow, but it works.
You can print three or four per spool of filament.
That’s all well and good, assuming you have at least ONE roll that us ON a spool. I have 4 rolls of spoolless filament and no way to load it on a printer.
Even then, I’m supposed to use the filament I bought to print a spool to use the filament I bought. This is insane. This is the last time I buy Babu filament.
They need to make it far more obvious and keep the UI consistent.
Sometimes they hide the version that is not in stock rather than disabling it.
When they do this, it may not be obvious you only have one of two options displayed. It doesn’t help that the terms are sometimes used interchangeably.
Filament is the actual material
Spool is the plastic or cardboard part the filament sits on
A spool of filament means the filament and not the spool.
Refill could mean just the filament or the spool and the filament.
A roll of filament could be on the spool or just the filament.
They need to make it far clearer and keep the terms the same at all times.
When you select refills, they should add a warning that you require a reusable spool in order for the refill to work.
The cost of the reusable spools is also far too expensive. The reusable spool price is £11 normally, sometimes during a sale they are £5. During a sale it is possible to purchase a refill for £12 or a spool with the filament for £15 (just £3 more), paying £5 isn’t great, paying £11 is just too much.
Idk, when I placed my first order for a printer and filament, it seemed pretty clear which colors were available with spools, and which were only refills.
